SUN4Patients is a prospective, multicenter non-invasive observational study of patients with first ever acute stroke, hemorrhagic and ischemic, (ICD-10 codes: I61, I63 and I64) who were admitted in eight (8) Public Hospitals of the country under study within 48 hours following the onset of symptoms. All patients are monitored and followed-up for three months. Moreover, a subgroup of recruited patients are followed for one (1) year in order to collect data on their health and social needs following their hospital discharge, health services utilization (medication, rehabilitation, outpatient visits) and loss of productivity. Patient enrolment and follow-up is estimated to last 18 months.
